Hello
I want a board which has
- 3 axis accelerometer
- temperature sensor
- humidity sensor
- wifi
optional
- gyrometer
- magnetometer
I looked at 33 nano ble, 33 nano iot, 33 ble sense, but nothing fit the bill.
Any recommendations?
Thanks

Not sure you’ll get everything as one. Usually it’s better to have the humidity or temperature sensor a bit away from the MCU anyway (MCU can become warm)
is it possible to attach a wifi module to ble sense as an external component?
How can i install temperature and humidity sensor along with arduino in a single case? what kind of devices are there?
There is a for hire section. You can post there and pay for somebody to design the board to your exact specifications. If you have the skill set in your tool box you can do it yourself.
ok thanks
Depends what you call "a case"
You could get an M5StickC PLUS ESP32-PICO and plug in the M5StickC ENV III HAT
You’d get a screen built in and a little battery on top plus a few other goodies
Thanks.
How difficult is it to program M5Stick compared to Arduino? I think this might be a wrong question but newbie here. I need to be able to easily find someone who can make it send data to cloud.
Also, the battery needs to last years. I think M5stick has 120Mah. LCD screen would take up a lot of it
By case i meant inside a waterproof case. A recangular cuboid. Something that can fit in the palm of the hand. Would the humidty sensor work then?
You program it like an Arduino. There are libraries available
if you don’t want to learn, this seems a great ask for the Jobs and Paid Consultancy forum, make sure you mention your budget.
If you have a waterproof enclosure you will only measure the humidity or temperature within the enclosure which will be impacted by the heat dissipation from the module … Is that what you want?
Is there a thermometer and humidity module that connects to M5stick which is also waterproof?
I guess i can poke a hole in the waterproof enclosure and stick the temp meter outside
If you have little experience then this is a bit ambitious given all the things you want from it .
Really my advice would be to make simple projects, learn a bit of code etc etc other wise you will get frustrated trying to build something above your present skill set . With some experience you will be able to see the issues of proposed projects and a route through them .
( learn to walk before trying to run !) .
Meanwhile you can buy such logging devices
I am actually trying to get an estimate of how much would this cost. I am a software developer, i just want to know if i try to assemble a system with 3 axis accelerometer, temp, humidity sensor and wifi, what is the lowest cost i can assemble it for, which includes sending data to cloud (or storing it locally)
When you say waterproof do you mean the enclosure will be under water or do you just need to it to be moisture resistant (a few rain drops )
Can you share context ?
Need it to be moisture resistant, but should be able to make do with moderate rain fall as well
an IP65-rated enclosure should be able to withstand moderate rainfall while providing adequate moisture resistance but you would need to place the environmental sensors outside the box
A humidity sensor is a device that detects and measures water vapour (and I suppose you don't want to measure the vapour inside a waterproof enclosure) it has to be somewhat exposed to the environment.
what's your exact use case?
I have to attach the sensor on the neck of the cow to get the readings.
if they cross rivers then you'll probably need a waterproof design

if not a well designed box where the MCU is in a waterproof enclosure and the environmental sensors (esp. for humidity) moderately exposed is doable.
there are waterproof sensors like the SHT20 I2C Temperature & Humidity Sensor
Any WiFi ready arduino could drive this, find one with a builtin battery connector and a suitable box size.
I've built systems for my garden based on some junctions boxes for example and I have external sensors connected through the built in cable glands (could have an external antenna on the other side if needed)
Is it possible that i connect esp32 with waterproof sensor like
and accelerometer like ADLX345 ?
And i choose a casing that allows temp sensor to be in touch with the skin of the cow?
How would that work?
Also, which battery would allow this device to last, say, 5 years?
You will be far better off buying something - by the time you’ve built them it will be cheaper and more reliable
Yes the DS18B20 or the ADLX345 can work with an ESP32.
a battery that has enough power to provide the system with the energy needed for 5 years... ![]()
Until you decide what the system is made of and measure what the power needs are (will the system sleep most of the time or be active and use WiFi all the time?) you won't be able to calculate that. WiFi takes quite a toll... Lora is less demanding for example....
Say i go with this
What would be the battery life if the system sleeps during night and is up during the day? What if it is up all the time?
Also, is it possible that the temp sensoe module just barely touches the skin? While being inside the case?
Does esp32 allow for extended module connections? Using a wire?
