RFID and Database

Hello!

I am trying to start a printable hall pass system for my classroom! I am wanting the students to scan their RFID (HID Proxy cards) ID badges and then it prints via a cheap thermal printer, a hall pass with their name and the time left the classroom.

Where would I start with this? If anyone has any advice at all, I would be more than happy! This is my first real-world project aside from just tinkering with servos and such!

Thank you in advance!

I would suggest you go to your library and get a copy of the Arduino Cookbook, and skim it cover to cover and pause on the projects that are relevant to what you want to do or just interesting. At that point you will have most of it figured out. Then draw a simple annotated schematic showing the parts you picked and post it, we will be more than happy to help you. These links may help:

You could enlist the help of some of your students, depending on there age etc.
