Id like to make a alarm and to disable the alarm i want to enter a passcode with a rotary encoder, like you turn to 1 then press, turn to 2 then press, turn to 3 then press, turn to 4 then press and then it would disarm the alarm but how would i do this with with a rotary encoder, it would be by using some arrays, can anyone help me?
Welcome to the forums. The first thing you can do is request a moderator move your post over to "Project Guidance" since this has nothing to do with introductory tutorials.
Then, if you have the rotary encode from sparkfun, they probably have a library for the part of guidance on what library to use. Install that an look at the examples. Get them working and then start building up your project.

what Arduino are you using and how have you connected the encoder?
