Runnings Windows 10 Iot core please advise I'm new to this

Hi all,

I'm trying to build my own GPS/Body control unit I have a 7inch lcd touch screen with HDMI and 2 USB inputs that can connect to my Arduino Mega 2560 unit but I want to run windows 10 Iot as the gps IGo relies on it to function, so do i need to install Windows on an SD card and attach this seperate module to the arduino if it can be done or am I better achieving this with the Pi, I asked sales about this and was told to post this question which was strange. Can anyone assist please.

Just to cover the project it needs to run
GPS navigation
Lighting, sounds alerts etc
And my touch LCD screen.

A question for you, what is and what does a 'GPS/Body control unit' do ?

Mr Goggle says its something to do with cars ?

so do i need to install Windows on an SD card

I'd like to know how you plan to do THAT.

and attach this seperate module to the arduino

An OS on an SD card is going to be as useful as wings on a pig.

or am I better achieving this with the Pi

You'll be no worse off with a Pi. It can't run Windows, either.

as the gps IGo relies on it to function

A GPS does NOT rely on Windows to run.

A lot of hardware and maybe software but no link to that stuff. The only thing that don't need a link here in the forum is the Mega2560 (that's an official Arduino product and is well documented here on the site).

A Mega2560 cannot run Windows 10 IoT so you must be more specific on what you try to do on which board. If there are more than one board involved (my guess) also provide a wiring diagram that shows all connections between the components.
