I have had this issue ever since the IDE v2 releases. I have this problem on my laptop and two desktops. so can not work with the v2 because of this issue. I tried every sub-version (2.0.1 - 2.0.3) and it was limited for a few minutes. I do some freelancing work in my free time and I have to work with a couple of clients every day. when I try to "Save As.." it always goes to "Documents\Arduino" but not to the previous folder where it was originally saved. v1.x is still fine and I don't really use v2 much because of this problem. I have a video also explains the difference between 1.x and 2.x. thank you all for taking the time to read this.
Hello everyone, I posted about this issue almost 4 months ago and unfortunately, I haven't received any solution or response yet. I've tried every sub-version of IDE v2 (2.0.1 - 2.1) and the 'Save As' option still does not work as expected. Whenever I try to 'Save As', it always goes to the 'Documents\Arduino' folder instead of the previous folder where it was originally saved. This is really inconvenient for me as I work with multiple clients and have a complex folder hierarchy in my computer. I don't want to browse to the folder every time I save a file.
I even bought a brand new computer and installed the latest version of Arduino IDE, but the issue still persists. I really hope someone can help me with this problem as it's affecting my productivity and work. Thank you for taking the time to read this and any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've been facing an issue with the Arduino IDE 2 for several months now, and despite posting about it previously, I have not received any solutions or responses. I wanted to bring this problem to your attention again in the hopes of finding a resolution.
The issue revolves around the "Save As" functionality in the Arduino IDE 2. Whenever I try to use "Save As," it consistently directs me to the "Documents\Arduino" folder, rather than the folder where the file was originally saved. This behavior is different from the previous versions (v1.x) of the IDE, which defaulted to the current folder.
This ongoing problem has become a significant inconvenience for me as I work with multiple clients and maintain a complex folder hierarchy on my computer. Having to browse to the desired folder every time I save a file has negatively impacted my productivity and workflow.
I even recorded a video showcasing the difference between the behavior of Arduino IDE 1.x and Arduino IDE 2. Here is the link to the video: Video Link
I have tried various sub-versions of the Arduino IDE 2, including 2.0.1, 2.0.2, and 2.1, but the issue persists across all of them. I even purchased a new computer and installed the latest version, but the problem remains.
I would greatly appreciate any assistance or suggestions that the community can provide in resolving this issue. If you have encountered a similar problem or have any insights on how to address it, please share your thoughts.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post, and I look forward to your valuable contributions.
