I am having a problem understanding how this interface saves files (1.6.7 win7). I have googled and I understand it makes a dir of the same name as the ino file and then places the ino file in the dir. So what I have been doing is coding on my desktop and saving the file in the default location.
Then I need to alter the program and upload it at the device that is being controlled by my Arduino (update to how things work once installed). I save the file to a directory on a thumb drive called Arduino after saving it to the default location. This works as expected until I make more changes on the desktop (program opened from default location) and try and save to the thumb drive again with the same name. I tell it to save in Arduino on the the thumbdrive and it creates another sub dir of the same name under the exiting sketch dir rather than overwriting or prompting me to over write? Is this working as designed?
Why and is there a work around? I do not want to save a copy of the code every time I change save locations.
I hope this makes sense.
