Serial data to web browser using WebSocket protocol solution

Hi everyone,

i have used this with my own Arduino projects and i decided to make it available for everyone. It's bit hackish, but works for me.

Basically it works as proxy beetween serial port and any network enabled application. WebSocket protocol allows you to directly control your Arduino from browser with simple JavaScript commands.

Really glad I found your post, I am going to test it out as I have been trying diferent ways of using arduino and websockets with no luck. I am also testing Autobahn wich seems to be a good library for python.

I have posted a more sophisticated tool which uses websocket from a web-browser to connect to Arduino using serial or TCP (if possible) I would appreciate if you could test drive my application called LabScript. Here is a brief description:

LabScript is a tool that allow you to quickly build web-based GUI to control you Arduino device. you can download the driver from http://sourceforge.net/projects/labscript/?source=directory

That looks pretty interesting too. However, my solution is made end users in mind, you can create UI using HTML5 and use libraries like www.highcharts.com and www.sencha.com to visualize your data and make it look great. But yes, it does take some skills to create those UI’s.

I will later add some nice looking examples to my application. There’s also some EOL issues i need to check.
