Serial Monitor not working

Hello,

Im using the lastest version of arduino cloud agent to connect to the website editor, it just worked fine 2 weeks ago but apparently the serial monitor isn't recognising the device, although the code works perfectly fine and the code is being executed to the board. The Seria.println() isnt working and this errors is displayed in the serial monitor: "We can’t find the device, please make sure it is connected via serial port. You can still see log history here, but data won’t be printed until new connection."

Im using a 3rd party board and windows 11, the browser is google chrome.

Many thanks in advance.

Are you accessing the Serial monitor via the link in the web editor on the right side?

Yes!

I have always done it this way and it worked for me, is anything wrong with this method?

Thanks

Could be a problem with the driver for the USB -> serial adapter. What OS are you using?

Also what adapter / chip do you got?

Hey!

I’m using Windows 11.

I’m kinda new to arduino so I don’t really know what you mean by that. I guess you refer to what board am I using? To be hones, these are ones my school bought from aliexpress so obviously their quality is bad, but I don’t really think that is the issue, as the serial monitor worked just fine some weeks ago.

Many thanks!

Hi,

Can you open up Device Manager, and check under Ports, what is there?
