Servo motor vs dc motor vs stepper motor and torque

Hello,

I need to create a solution with stepper, dc or servo motor, and the ideia is measure for the same speed the torque on the shaft of the motor.

What is the best motor to create high torque movement ( stepper + encoder , dc with gearbox + encoder or server motor ) and measure the torque without torque sensor ??

The only solution is based on the current consumption ? Any idea?

Exists industrial products with this automatic control - control speed and get torque feedback ?

thanks.

Stepper is no use at all for measuring torque from the current consumption. PMDC motor is suitable.

Hi,
What is the application that needs torque monitoring?

Thanks.. Tom...

Drill hole perforation torque.

A permanent magnet DC motor is the easiest way - just monitor the current, pretty linear relation to torque
once you allow for brush-friction (which is a roughly constant amount of lost torque you can measure by
running the motor unloaded)
