Shaded-Pole Motor going Forward and Reverse?

Hey all. So our project is a compost shredder, and my MET guys gave me this motor:

Which by their calculations is in the requirements of what they need to drive the shear spindles. They/We want the gears to have a reverse function. Since this thing is a shaded-pole motor I'm thinking that's not possible. I'm not sure where to find a bi-directional motor that has similar specs that we need. Can I get some thoughts. Thanks

I would have thought a 25 ib/inch torque from that motor is not man enough for this job.
It’s only around 300W.

Domestic ones are in the 2000watt upwards, commercial ones are 4HP upwards ( 2800 watts) .

I don’t think you need an Arduino either

First task is to figure out the max torque and max speed you need.

Yes, you can reverse the direction of a shaded pole motor. There is a Utube video of how to disassemble the motor and move the heavy copper wire turn to the opposite side of the armature and reassemble the motor. That is the only way and probably not what you are needing.
