Other than shockley being a shocking person to work for, what was all the hype over the Shockley Diode? I seem to recall a 4 layer Diode which if i recall correctly

Diac=foward shockley diode+backward shockley diode

need shockley diode and do not want to wait ebay shipping, use diac plus one diode.
