Hi, i have just moved into a flat and at the moment i am hotspotting my laptop off my phone, i have a very reasonable sim only deal that includes 140Gb of data for 15£/month (+unlimited mins/texts) and generally its perfectly adequate, except when im on the phone it slows to a trickle and sometimes just wont load.
I wanted to know if i can make a 'router' that i can put a dedicated SIM into that i can hotspot from ?
Any info would be much appreciated.
cheers,
josh.
Just buy 4G router. I'm having internet for more than ten years through cell line, nowadays >20 smart devices connected as well. Huawei B535 is reliable basic router to give an example.
Hi, sorry for the delay in replying, well tbh im looking for a project and to be honest i always look into building as a default - sometimes to save money where possible but i always enjoy it
Hi, i am looking into making a mobile router as i have a sim only deal with ALOT of data, and so far just hotspot my laptop off my phone but want to make a dedicated unit to hotspot from - before i go any further ill just say i know there might be easier/cheaper options but i really enjoy building stuff and usually enjoy it all the more if i have a useful/functional device at the end of it :).
Anyway i was planning to use a SIM7600E-H, but they arent cheap, ive just come across the A7608E-H, which has a similar transfer rate (150MbpsD/50MbpsU) and is considerably cheaper to aquire.
Now what i want to know is would this still be compatible when used in place of a SIM7600E-H?
Any info or advice would be much appreciated :).
Cheers,
Josh.
Hi, i was just looking around for a SIM7600 module and have noticed that the seem to be area specific (7600 SA for south africa/ A for australia ect...) what exactly is the difference? is it just that the carrier/mobile networks differ country to country?
any advice would be much appreciated cheers,
josh.
Frequency bands for 4G/5G/ LTE are different from carrier to carrier/mobile networks / countries
For example, details about Australian networks:
That's 3 almost identical topics. I've merged them. Please stop creating new topics on basically variations on the same subject, keep your questions about your proposed home made router / hotspot here. More topics on the same subject risk a suspension.
Thank you.
how are the router thread and AS5311 in anyway related? they are both entirely different projects
I'm confused. You had 3 router related topics, which I merged. Your AS5311 topic still exists as a separate topic.
Please clarify.
