SIM900A network connection problem

I currently have a SIM900A GSM Module
I've used a lot of GSM modules in the past such as SIM800L and from experience, it is better to use an external power supply (preferably 5V 2A) to your GSM Module, so that's what I did for the SIM900A.

After powering, the SIM900A's power LED is ON and the network LED is blinking every 1s (indicating that it's trying to connect to a network) but it's been more than an hour now and the SIM900A still can't connect to a network. I noticed this pattern, the network LED blinks every 1s for 6 consecutive times and the GSM Module resets, repeating the process again. What does this mean and how can I successfully connect my SIM900A to a network?

clearly the blinking pattern of the network LED followed by a reset is an indicator of a problem.

The correct voltage for powering the SIM900A GSM module typically falls within the range of 3.2V to 4.8V. Do you have the right voltage for your module and guarantee it's stable?

Did you insert the SIM card in the right way ? does it have a PIN code?

2G and 2.5G networks (GSM and GPRS) have been gradually phased out in many regions of the world. Do you still have coverage?

Do you have access to the Serial output of the module ? sometimes you'll see information being spit out if you can issue AT commands

Thank you for the information, I am confident that I have an adequate power supply and the sim card is properly connected. May I ask how can I see the Serial output, can you give me a brief code I assume that is related to software serial?

Which arduino do you have ?

Make sure that you use a Simcom module that is intended for your network. I live in europe and had to choose SIMCOM 7000 "E" type, to make it connect. It is clearly described in the manual. Then, the simcard must support a certain type for functions, IoT. Some country, like Bangladesh, do not support unregistered IMEIs. They must be registed first, at the goverment.
