Sleep mode GSM module, Quectel M95 or Simcom SIM900 ?

Hi everyone,
I've read lots of threads talking about GSM modules but, up to now, I haven't found anything interesting concerning the sleep mode.

I need a GSM module that can wake up on external signal (i.e. from Arduino) or when it receives an sms.
Which modem do you suggest?
Thank you

Most GSM devices support software power control. Just make sure that any shield you fancy implements it.

Thank you for the answer,
I was looking for something like this SIM800L http://www.ebay.it/itm/SIM800L-Quadband-GPRS-GSM-Module-with-SIM-and-Antenna-Arduino-compatible-/171994039879?hash=item280ba4c647:g:q~AAAOSwbdpWXFUs

I hope this one works for my purpose

Hmm, it doesn't give much information about which pins are broken out.

The other thing that concerns me is the apparent lack of voltage regulation. The SIM800L is NOT a 5 volt device, recommended supply is 3.4 - 4.4 volts.

Yes, sorry, I didn't notice the lack of voltage regulator.
I think I'll buy this one. Standard 5V input, and it seems to handle sleep mode

That looks a far better choice!
