Hi everyone:)
I am building a box with two doors like a closet.
I will be hanged from the ceiling.
I put 2 solenoid valves on each part of the 2 parts door, so that on cue the doors will open.
But the weight of the wood is too heavy for the 12v solenoid.
My options are, building a thinner door, a smaller one, or upgrading my solenoid.. many people suggest to change the mechanism, any advice?
First I think I will make two doors depend on one door, and then put solenoid on each side, instead of one for each..
thanks a lot in advance hope it was clear
Some pics could help us to understand your problem.
From what I can understand a linear actuator could solve the problem.
Sounds good to me.
Installing counter weights is one possibility.
sounds like we need a servo controlled winch..
couple pulleys, some rope..
yummy,yummy..
Exactly! amazing sketch
Interesting! yeah maybe that will do the job, i am back at the workshop on Sunday, and will give the solenoids one last try before purchasing alternatives
thank you so much for this creative idea
Thanks!
Keep in mind that the magnet won't replace the solenoid because if lacks energy the doors will open.
The magnet will pull the doors to release the pressure over the latch.
oh wow!
but why would the magnet lack energy? it is a good idea to use both..
okay, thank you all!!
it worked!!
maybe i will post a video later on that shows..
but the wifi connectivity is unstable to say the least..
thinking of moving to ps3/4 controller and Bluetooth, is that more stable?
and if so, enough for performance arts? (again it is on the celling)
if not, does dmx shield will do the job?
thanks in advance!
Hi!
Glad to hear!
Give us more details about electronic parts.
Pics and schematic will help.
Best regards.
