(SOLVED) (Soldering Stations Opinion) Bakku 936N vs Bakku 936B

Hello everyone,
i am doing various projects using the Arduino for quite some time now and i find myself wanting to start learning to do the soldering. I am not a professional electrical engineer but this is my hobby! I want to buy a soldering station and after some research i have found two stations which fit my budget as following:

  • Bakku 936N

  • Bakku 936B

Which of these two do you recommend? Can these soldering stations be used with other type of boards? (eg. ARM)

I haven't seen anywhere in the product's description about ESD. Do i really need my soldering station to be ESD?

Best regards and
thank you so much in advance,
Panos.

They are both whats called Clone versions of the original 936 station.

Such copies and low prices, they are all basically all the same inside and most say they are ESD safe, though technically some might dispute that.

All irons will solder any board providing you have a suitable tip on it, those stations usually come with a smallish tip thats suitable for your beginners hands though there are masses of different sizes of spare tips around quiet cheaply.

I have one similar to that 936B, its just called the WLX 936, but am happy with it for basic diy work.

All those kits come with a wetable sponge to clean the tip, but would suggest you also order some Brass Coil cleaner Wire - quiet cheap and much better.

Hi @ricky101,
thank you so much for your reply. I have ordered the Bakku 936N soldering station.
