I believe that the esp8285 is it catered for in Arduino IDE and it can be used with ESP Now?
I have a few spare Sonoff basic switches in a drawer and they all have the esp8285 processor.
There is a load of stuff online regarding flashing new firmware to the Sonoff basic to allow it to be used with IOT systems. I was wondering if you can simply program a Sonoff basic in the same way you would program an esp8266-01s using Arduino IDE?
I am interested in a very simple project where I have an esp8266 with a DHT11 or 22 which can be hung on clothes drying rack. I could then have it turn on and off a fan using ESP Now and a Sonoff basic, depending on the humidity. There would be no need for WiFi protocols.
