I'm following a sparkfun tutorial on how to build a pcb in eagle.
This is the part for the DC barrel jack.
My question is - how can you tell from the datasheet, how to wire it correctly (as shown in the schematic)?

The drafting is certainly a bit strange, notably how they rotate the part from the side view to create the "Top view". The important point is that pin 1, the center pin, is the pin farthest from the plug entrance hole and typically VCC. Pin 2 is GND, and pin 3 (the side pin) makes contact with pin 2 when no plug is inserted.

Note the PCB Layout part of the document shows the front of the connector outline as a dotted line, and
has pin numbers marked on the pads.
