Stepper motor with arduino and transistor. ( H bridge )

Hi everyone,

I have a stepper motor, with 4 cables.

Can i control these little guy with an Arduino and home made electronics ?

I think it is possible with a H Bridge like this :

do you think it's possible ?

Depends on the spec's of the stepper and your drawing.
Need more information.

The stepper motor is a 2 pole from Neocene.

The schema was only here for exemple, I would like to use NPN and PNP transistor not only a PNP like the schemas.

I'm not sure but the stepper need to be powered coil after coil non ?

Your schematic has only NPNs in it (and its wrong because the high-side transistors are
in emitter-follower configuration which isn't suitable for switching high currents at all.

So yes, NPN and PNP would be better. But you need a bit more than transistors, current setting resistors on the base, what voltage is the supply?

If your stepper is a low-impedance bipolar motor, forget it, you need a current-controlling
chopper drive circuit, not H-bridges.
