Stuck installing IDE 1.8.10 Linux 64 on HP Chromebook

Greetings.

I have successfully downloaded and unzip'd the above for my Chromebook running the latest OS and Linux. Please see screen grab below:

If I attempt to copy the folder to my Arduino directory on my computer (that is from the mounted zip drive), some 5,000+ files are slowly copied over and it appears that this may take days.

On the other hand, I am not certain of the correct syntax to install the program from terminal.

Are there clear instructions anywhere to help guide me through this process?

Thank you,

David

Instructions here: Desktop IDE running on Chromebook via chroot - Interfacing w/ Software on the Computer - Arduino Forum

As an alternative to that approach, there is also an arduino_ide package in chromebrew.

Keep in mind that you also have the option of using the Arduino Create Chrome app and the Arduino Web Editor:

That should be the easiest way to get started using Arduino on a Chromebook.
