Student kit problems with getting started

Hello,
We are so confused on how to get started with a student kit for my 10 year old. He does not have a phone to scan a QR code, so we wanted to just get a log in page on the desktop for him to get started with lessons. I cannot for my life find that. There are no directions in the kit on how to get started with lessons, only a QR to get started registering the product. When I scan it with my phone it takes me to a page but the "get started" button doesn't respond. I looked for a contact phone number for help and it doesn't exist. I wrote a contact us form and the "submit" button is not responding either. Needless to say I am started to regret this purchase for our homeschool, and have decided not to get a second and third kit for my other sons as the experience so far has been awful for us. Wondering if someone can reach out to us and if not, instructions on how to return this kit would be appreciated. Thank you. Tina

Welcome to the forum

Is the student kit that you refer to an official Arduino product or is it from a third party supplier ?

The Arduino page Arduino Student Kit suggests going to https://studentkit.arduino.cc/ from where you can create an Arduino account or use your existing account to access the student course

I went to https://studentkit.arduino.cc/ and was able to see the student kit course content with my existing account.

I didn't expect to be able to do this without purchasing a student kit.

At some point in the past, I believe we did require registration to access the digital content for the kit, and you will still find some documentation that claims this. However, we have since switched to intentionally make the content available to anyone who is logged into an Arduino account.

In which case @tinasch12 should be able to login with her forum credentials.

Exactly. To be more precise, we log into the forum using our Arduino account credentials. But the fact remains that the same log in used to access your forum account also serves to grant you access to the Student Kit content.

The situation may be slightly more complicated if @tinasch12 wants to create a separate account for the lucky ten year old. In order to comply with regulations, Arduino requires a special "junior account" for users below 14 years old. However, other than the requirement that it be created by a parent (or with parental consent), the creation of a junior account is simple enough:

Including Arduino Student Kit

Which says

Each kit comes with a unique activation code, stored under the lid of the packaging. When getting started with the kit, you will be asked to activate it by going to studentkit.arduino.cc, entering your activation code and creating an Arduino account.

@Arduino.cc... Please, vet "English" through native Anglophones (UK, US, CAN) for accuracy and "trolling."

If that is a quotation then surely you ought to be lambasting the originator rather than Arduino.cc

... for marrying into the Rugrat family, or picking the worst quote to represent an education system?
