Stupid Forum Title(s)

At least the section "Installation & Troubleshooting" makes many people think that this were the right place for troubleshooting their projects. Please change the title of this section to something clearer, e.g. by at least removing the "&". The mod's are already desperate because none of the Arduino people seems to be willing to make her hands dirty with such a simple yet mandatory change :frowning:

Please give a signal that Arduino management still is alive!

What would you suggest as the ideal title?

That would be harmful. It completely changes the meaning.

The scope of the category is broader than troubleshooting installation problems. Where would people put all the topics about other problems with the Arduino IDE software? General Discussion?

That does better fit the description...

For problems with the Arduino IDE (integrated development environment). NOT for problems with your project.

Arduino IDE Installation seems like the logical choice given that description.

Again, why limit it to installation? IMO we need a small number of broad distinct categories rather than a huge number of very specific and overlapping categories.

"Arduino IDE" or "Arduino IDE Troubleshooting" would fit the description.

I had to

"Arduino IDE" || "Arduino IDE Troubleshooting"

Because money from the IDE keeps the lights on. At one point in time an Arduino employee monitored that section and occasionally provided help.

I guess we should think of it like this that the focus of this sub forum is for users who cannot get even as far as loading the blink sketch on their "Arduino".
The big problem is to dream up an unambiguous title for that sub forum.

I suppose one way would be to have bot which asks a series of questions:

You don't know which sub forum to post your question/remark in ?

Are you able to load the blink sketch ? No ? Go here: Installation & Troubleshooting - Arduino Forum

I do not know about the current forum software, but I once had a conversation about the old forum software and "customization" was considered a non-option as it would not survive a software update.

How about:

Arduino IDE problems
For problems with the Arduino IDE (integrated development environment), not problems with your project.

I would vote for that. Fairly precise, though undoubtedly some will misconstrue it
