Does the latest version of the IDE support the assembler type language of the Pi Pico known as PIO programming. There has been discussions on this topic but nothing new since 2021 so those discussion have been closed down.
I have come across the video(link below) which has moved me forward to where I can now compile a PIO file. However as David mentions in this video which is nearly 2 years old the Arduino IDE support for the Pico is still work in progress. He also states that there were at that time of his video some instabilities within the then Arduino IDE implementation. So has any progress been achieved and is the implementation now more stable?
This would be really handy if it had an update. All of the material I am finding is from 2021. I'd love to start using the state machines without having to delve into separate IDEs
