I thought the use of strings for weather forecasting had been deprecated.

there is a troll in me who thinks it would be really funny to make a post in "Project Guidance" describing this weather station using an Arduino in a purposely deceitful way, just to see how many folks with good hearts would rush to post offering help before figuring out you were talking about the Arduino hanging from the wire through the mounting hole, not some sensors electrically connected to the Arduino running code...
Would that be a good idea?
