To build a base station / Repeater on arduino?

Hi,

I recently came across a problem where all I want is a mobile phone repeater to take my Mobile / Cell phones signal and send it to an external Arial installed in my house.
Legally its an signal extension of my phone and nothing else.
Not a base station as such but just a signal repeater.

I found this on youtube, and wondered if it could be made to work on a $25.00 arduino Board,
rather than buying a generic one for roughly $700.00

Any input would be appreciated.

The article is far to short on useful information to be able to comment.
The Radio Interface which is what does all the hard work is unexplained.
Mobile phone repeaters are difficult things to make, hence the high price tag.

Without opening that link it seems likely that it is based on a RaspberryPi.

How could a 16MHz Arduino deal with mobile phone frequencies ?
