Ultra beginner need help with pinball controller project

Since the word 'ultra' appears in your thread title, in the right hand image the dark bars are the underside of the holes in the left image. All your switch commons would connect to one of the long bars marked with a (-) . Be sure to also connect this to the Arduino GND. The horizontal bars are the underside of the holes marked a-e and f-j. So a1 thru e1 are all one conductor. Handy for connecting things like LEDs, ICs, resistors, etc.

@dougp, thank you, the use of the word: "ultra" wasn't for nothing and your explanation for ultra beginner like me, is very very helpful
I used to build pc's years ago and it wasn't too hard, just follow the orders where each jumper goes , and the machine is up and running and also I loved as a kid, to play with electronic kits. back in the days where there was no internet, they used to sell educational kits for kids to learn some electronic basics and do some fun little projects like led lights and radio etc and I loved it very much, but this is all my electronic knowledge more or less.

thanks to your generous help, my pinball controller came to life
