I found this about setting up an ultrasonic sensor interface for the ardunio

what I want to do is have 2 ultrasonic sensors not side by side but one for transmitting and one for sending, I saw another website that says "Air transceivers can be converted into contact transceivers" but it doesnt explain how... does anyone here know or have experience with this?
