Unable to burn bootloader with USBASP

Hi all.

I bought one of these;

To program a few of these http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/microcontrollers/7380684/

The problem is that I am getting this error message.

avrdude: Warning: cannot query manufacturer for device: No such file or directory
avrdude: Warning: cannot query product for device: No such file or directory
avrdude: error: could not find USB device with vid=0x16c0 pid=0x5dc vendor='www.fischl.de' product='USBasp'
Error while burning bootloader.

Any ideas?

You need to install the drivers (zadig is a very good tool for this). What you're seeing is what happens when you don't have drivers installed, or don't have the right drivers.
