Hi,
I know that there is a place to put the additional boards manager links, but when I remove one of those and press save the board included is still in the list of boards.
Is there a solution for this? @ptillisch
I never mentioned "edit a file". Find the Arduino15 directory and look in there. You will find the packages in in the packages subdirectory; below from a Windows system, a Mac will not differ.
Hi @anon92864395. You can uninstall the platform using the Arduino IDE Boards Manager; no need to remove it manually from your hard drive. I'll provide instructions:
Select Tools > Board > Boards Manager from the Arduino IDE menus to open the "Boards Manager" view in the left side panel.
Scroll down through the list of boards platforms until you see the entry for the platform you want to uninstall.
Hover the mouse pointer over the entry.
You will see a ••• icon appear at the top right corner of the entry.
Click the ●●● icon.
A menu will open.
Select "Remove" from the menu.
An "Uninstall" dialog will open.
Click the "YES" button in the "Uninstall" dialog.
Wait for the uninstallation to finish. ⓘ The progress will be shown by a notification at the bottom right corner of the Arduino IDE window.
Sorry I was not detailed enough.
Is this better?
I had installed several additional boards using a link.
So I can remove them by just clicking remove in the boards manager?
It's too bad that there Is no "installed" filter in the IDE 2 boards manager.
Thank you very much
You can remove the platform installation using Boards Manager. That procedure will not remove the URL from the "Additional Boards Manager URLs" field of your preferences (because these URLs can be used to manage multiple platforms), but it will remove the platform itself, meaning the boards will no longer appear under the Tools > Board menu and other places in the Arduino IDE UI.
Any platform you installed using Boards Manager can be uninstalled using Boards Manager. If you installed a platform manually (by putting it in the hardware subfolder of the sketchbook folder), you will not be able to use Boards Manager to uninstall it. But, with the exception of platform developers and beta testers, most users manage their boards platforms exclusively via the convenient Boards Manager these days.
