Unlimited variable actual number?

For the Maker plans, the store page says you get unlimited variables, but also says they are intended for "reasonable and fair use" of less than 256 variables. So which is it? If its limited at 256, thats not very unlimited, but if its unlimited why say that there is a limit?
Not that anyone should actually be using 256 variables per thing, just wanted clarification.

Hi, @meowterspace5129
Welcome to the forum.

Can you please post a link to the Maker plans so we can see in what context it was written.

Tom.... :+1: :coffee: :australia:

Details are to be found at cloud.arduino.cc/plans/.

Unlimited (*) variables

Arduino has defined 'unlimited variables' as less than 256.
