Uno R4 Wifi not managed on Windows 32 bits / IDE 1.x ?

I would like to purchase the Uno R4 Wifi board. It seems that it's only managed with Arduino IDE 2.x, so not with Windows 32 bits. Is it true?

I have no experience with the Uno R4 but I'm curious what makes you think that?

No. You can program it using IDE 1.x

Because I don't see Uno R4 Wifi in the list of boards in IDE 1.x.

There may be a Catch 22 here

I can program the Uno R4 boards using IDE 1.8.19 but I actually installed the board file using IDE 2.x

You have to add the board using "board manager".

Add "Arduino R4 Boards".
And then you will be able to select Arduino Uno R4 Minima, or Arduino Uno R4 Wifi.

They are not with the Arduino AVR boards, but a new category "Arduino Renesas Uno R4 Boards" will have appearred.

Ok. Thanks a lot!
