Use Arduino to play music

That is what I do with a group of people that go under the name of Drake Music, look them up and see the sort of stuff they make.

This is a project I made last year:-

That's probably because you are using the wrong type of buzzer.

An active buzzer contains circuitry to make the buzzer beep on it's own.
This will interfere with you also trying to make sound.

You need a passive buzzer, that doesn't make any sound on it's own.

You can test it by connecting the buzzer to the 5volt pin.
If you hear a tone, then it's an active type, and unsuitable for your project.

The passive buzzers are highly resonant (typically around 2 kHz) and don't make for particularly good speakers either. A speaker intended for broad frequency reproduction will have much more even volume across tones.

Sure, but a passive piezo is much better than an active buzzer.

Speakers are usually 4-8ohm, and you can't drive them directly with an Arduino pin.

No argument.

My point really is that the original post describes the output as "sounding bad" and there are many ways for it to "sound bad", and more specifically, it's not going to sound particularly musical even if the specified parts are used.

With a good audio output transducer (with appropriate matching circuitry), it could sound like a 1980s vintage video game. It isn't going to sound anything like a piano without some exceedingly non-trivial extensions.

We tried both types. Unfortunately neither sounds very well as musical instrument. Active does have more noises but passive volume is too low.

Amazing!

Support circuitry, amplification, necessary.

Here are two audio amplifiers that are simple to make:-

Yes, a problem with small passive piezos.
There is the toneAC library, which will give you a bit more volume, but not much.

Powered computer speakers (dump shop) are an easy solution.

Yes, we are using a computer PC now. Next we’ll try DFplayer mini. Thanks.
