Using oscilloscope with Arduino synth

Hello,

I'm new to this stuff, so forgive any stupid questions.

I've just ordered a kit so I can try and build a small Arduino based synth, and would love to be able to view the signal through an oscilloscope. Any tips to where I should start?

Is something like this gonna work, and if so, how do I use it?

If it's a synth you will be working with audio frequencies, so you could just use your computers sound card and a free software oscilloscope better than buying one.
If you will use it for more projects than audio consider buying a better oscilloscope.
