VsCODE vs Arduino IDE

I read that Cotestant uses VsCode instead of Arduino IDE.... Can you explain to me how to use it to compile a C file written for ESP32 (I normally use Arduino...), link it and upload it to an ESP32?
Forgive my ingenuity, but I have had a look at VsCode and I have many doubts about it. Thanks to those who will help me better understand this new way. Roberto

Vscode and Arduino IDE 2.x are both built on Eclipse Theia so are essentially the same underneath.

what happen if you paste C code in Arduino IDE, choosing board and press Compile?

Ok, I'll bite. What is "cotestant"?
If you're not using an Arduino board, not using the Arduino IDE, and using some application that isn't written for Arduino, maybe you need to find another place to ask your question!

The user "cotestatnt" ??

Yes Sterretje, "Cotestatnt" is an user...
