Why different views?

I was building a new PC and checking the Browser (Firefox). The forum page link I use is;

https://forum.arduino.cc/latest

I noticed that a lot of the latest threads displayed, circa 20 in the last hour, dissapeared when I logged in, see the two screenshots below, before and after login;

Before login;

And after login;

So why when I login are so many topics missing ?

Check your forum settings, may be you muted some categories or put some users to the ignore list.

Where do I check the forum settings ?

I dont recall blocking any forums or users, so I dont know where to look .................

Forum profile -> Preferences

In 'Notifications' there are no blocked or muted users.

In the Notifications\Categories, there are none shown as blocked. I found 'Programming Questions' in the list, I have not been shown posts in this section, selected it and it went the the top of the list but with a black cross against it, so presumably that means blocked.

The affect of the problem, is that I only see about 1 in 5 posts in the 'Latest' view.

Programming Questions is one that is being blocked, but my profile appears to say its not blocked.

Anyone else having a similar issue ?

Of course you might not notice without checking that your not getting a full list of new posts.

One 'benefit' of the issue is I guess is a significantly reduced workload on the forums servers ......

With my not logged in browser, I saw a post on LoRa ( a favourite topic of mine) in Networks, Protocols and Devices that I wanted to respond to.

Could not see it in recent posts, so I went down through the categories and opened the post from there.

I replied to the post, and then the thread appears in recent posts.

So what magic voodoo is needed to get 'Recent Posts' to display 'Recent Posts' ?

So the forum software appears to be broken.

Is there a way of getting the issue fixed or supported ?

I see the similar behaviour of the forum, but not consider it as "issue". There are some settings that can cause this behaviour - for example, for registered user post are treated as new only one or two days and than than it will be hidden from view.
Again, I don't see this as a problem.

Take 'Programming Questions' as an example.

In the last 24 hours there has been 64 posts in that forum, I have seen none of them in the 'Latest' view.

In 'Project Guidance' 40 posts in the last 24 hours, I have seen none of them in the 'Latest' view.

I see that as a issue.

I have seen more than 200 posts in "Latest" in that category (in fact, much more, because when scrolling to the end, the list automatically lengthens).

But in my "Latest" view all messages are shown, and not just for 24 hours

So the forum software appeas to be blocking some users from a full list of the latest posts.

The list of forums I have found so far that are being blocked is;

Installation and Troubleshooting
Displays
Project Guidance
Leds and Multiplexing
Networkin Protocols and Devices
AVRdude, STK500, Bootloader issues
Microcontrollers
Sensors
Motors, Mechanics, Power and CNC
Programming Questions

These forums have all had posts in the last 4 hours but they dont appear in my Latest list.

On spotting that those forums were all in 'Using Arduino' I went in and blocked that forum. Then unblocked it, and the view is restored.

Something stuck I guess ................
