Win 11 avrdude: ser_open(): can't set com-state for "\\.\COM4"

I got a new laptop with win 11 and I am now unable to upload programs to any nano that I have(3 pieces). Uploading to an Uno works fine.

The problem is in my new laptop, both cable and all 3 nano's work on my old laptop running win 10. I'm running IDE 2.2.1 on both

Following message is given when I try to upload:
avrdude: ser_open(): can't set com-state for "\.\COM4"
Failed uploading: uploading error: exit status 1

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers from device manager.
I've tried copying the ch341s64.sys file from my win10 laptop to win11, but that did not work(win10 only has that file listed as driver)

the chip on my nanos reads:
AZdelivery
AZ340C

Does anyone have any suggestions on what else I can try?

See if this solves the issue: Can't set com-state on a cheap nano clone - #6 by ptillisch

That worked, eventually. Thanks!

Small update to the guide in case someone else comes across this with similar problem.
At first the program failed to install the drivers. I had to uninstall the CH340 drivers from device manager.

After that when I ran the driver installer it said "drivers successfully preinstalled"or something to that effect.

Connected my nano and could upload from the IDE.

That is normal behaviour if your board is not connected. I uninstalled the driver yesterday for another topic and installed it without the board connected; when repeating the exercise with the board disconnected, I did not get that message.
