Wiznet W5500 discrepency

Hello everyone,

I am using the Wixnet W5500 chip on a project that I am working on. I was going through the datasheet and the reference schematic only to find out that there is a discrepancy on Pin 23 between the 2 documents.

The datasheet says that the pin needs to be grounded (even the Arduino ethernet shield v2 has a 10 k pull-down resistor on it) while the reference schematic has the pin not connected to anything.

So I need clarification on this pin on whether or not I should connect it to something or if it is ok to leave it floating.

The Wiznet eval board has a 10K pulldown

hahah well then that looks like to settle the tie there. Their reference schematic on the chip is questionable at this time. Guess I should just stick with the eval board schematic.

If the data sheet says it should be there then it should be there.
The reference designs are not necessarily working designs like the eval board

Thank you Jim for resolving the discrepancy.

Have a nice day!
