The "Wonder Box" is a paranormal radio that scans frequencies forward and backward, and the scanning speed can be adjusted. First, I would appreciate it if anyone could point me toward plans and code for that. I have the radio card and parts, but the plans I bought were incomplete, and when I wrote for support, I received nothing but crickets.
Secondly, I want to add a noise suppression shield, module, or whatever they are called, and a reverb shield to the build. They would allow me to filter and adjust the sound quality.
I have an Uno 3B+, Nano, FM radio shield, and a PT2399 reverb card. What else do I need? I have no idea how to put this all together, so be warned. I can do the FM radio but not the rest.
The suppressor and reverb are the equivalent of guitar pedals used in the Wonder Box on the TV shows of Ghost Adventures and TAP's, but I suspect there are shields or modules that can do the same thing without a ten-pound set of metal foot pedals attached to the side of the Spirit Box, (which seems ridiculous).
There are a lot of us out here that would love to build these because the guy that used to custom make them doesn't make them any more. Mine is for personal use, and I'll share plans on here, on YouTube, and on my website. Knowledge and building skills should be freely shared.
If you can help me build this, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm interested in coding, but I'm not very good at it. I'm still a newbie.
Thanks
Mike
I already tried the one Bill Chaple created. He never finished it. The fourth installment is missing, and after asking him to finish it, he never has. You'll see my name on the two comments on Digital Dowsing website. I tried to build that and would LOVE to finish it. Maybe you or someone here can finish the build that for whatever reason he won't. I've waited years to finish that build.
What is left to do to finish the build? Can you give a better description of what exactly you want the project to do so we don't have to research it ourselves?
The regular Arduino isn't powerful enough for audio processing. You're better off using a computer.
Audacity is free and it can do all kinds of effects, including noise reduction and reverb, but it mostly works on recorded digital files and is not good for real-time processing.
From what I understand, the "ghosts" are buried in the noise and if you remove the noise you loose the effect. But equalization can help to boost the voice frequencies and you can cut and paste to remove any uninteresting parts, etc.
And of course, a lot of things on TV and in movies are science fiction, props, and special effects. In the movies they can extract a conversation from crowd noise at a party, or read a license plate from a fuzzy picture. That's mostly fake. ...Recently there was a blurry picture of a Hyundai Elantra in the news. You may have notice that they weren't able to sharpen the image to get a clear picture of the car or the driver,
He has published three installments: https://www.digitaldowsing.com/diy/
Each installment produces a complete device and adds features to the previous installment. Have you finished building Installment 3?
Installment 3 was released February 21st, 2022.
Installment 2 was released January 23rd, 2022.
