working with the STM electronics LSM303C magnetometer

All I can find for the LSM303 SENSORS IS FOR THE LSM303dlh sensor. It is a LGA 28 package and my sensor is the LGA 12. Would I be possible to use the LSM303DLH sample code as a basis? Also I've never done interfacing before. The link below is my sensors data sheet.

Weird but on this STMicroelectronics page is the data sheet for my sensor.

Here is the sensor I found code for:

My main worry is the communication protocols. I have exactly zero experience with it and I am struggling to find much help or general guidelines.
