I am having some trouble with my e3d v6 hotend. when I power up my board the full graphics LCD beeps and tells me that there has been a thermal runaway. Any help would be very welcomed.

Sounds like your temperature probe has failed.
They are very inexpensive.

Thanks. I will order a replacement but first I'm going to check if any wires are shorted.

Turns out there was a short in the heater block.
