Xcrun command popup

I keep getting a popup when I open Arduino, see below. Do I need to install it?

Which version of the IDE are you using and how did you install it ?

I am on version 2.0.0 on a Mac and just downloaded it from the website.

Sorry. I don't speak Mac

OK, thanks for looking.

@SierraGolfMike
Do you have XCode 13/14 installed?
I had a similar popup continuously coming up during homebrew operations.
The alert was not triggered by running IDE 2.0, which started on that machine with no problem whatsoever.
I was forced to run an update to XCode (which I try to do as little as possible) and Homebrew update started working again.
There might be some underlying process triggering such behaviour.
Do you know how to execute IDE 2.0 from Terminal so we can get the log out of it?

I'll be happy to guide you through it, since such feedback is more than welcome

Not sure if I have Xcode 13/14 installed. How do I find out?

if you're not sure you don't have it.
It's for Mac/iOS development, and it must be installed on purpose.

are you comfortable with the Terminal?

I know how to get the terminal open but that's about it. Sorry I have to sign off for the night, I will check tomorrow. Thanks

I know how to get the terminal open but that's about it

that is good enough

open Terminal, copy this command and paste it in there (I'm assuming you have Arduino IDE in your main Applications folder

/Applications/Arduino\ IDE.app/Contents/MacOS/Arduino\ IDE > ~/Desktop/IDE2launchLog.log

When you get the xcrun popup click cancel.
The IDE should quit, but if it doesn't quit the app yourself.

Now on your Desktop you'll have a file named IDE2launchLog.log.
Please upload this file here so we can look into it and figure out if there's something that trigger such error

Thank you for helping us hunt bugs

As requested, here is the log file
IDE2launchLog.log (53.5 KB)
Hope this helps.

excellent!
I'll drop it to one of the devs and see if he can figure out why this happens

I can't see anything at a glance, but we'll investigate.
Which board do you have selected for this project?
Maybe one of the discovery tools might be the culprit

I am getting the same popup with three different boards, an Uno, Mega and a Nano.

I am having the same problem. I just downloaded and installed IDE 2.0.0 on my MacBook Pro running Big Sur 11.6.2. I can open the IDE with no problems, but when I connect my MKR1000 and select it from the "Select Board" menu I get the same "xcrun" popup. I would be happy to upload a log if it would help. I do not have Xcode installed.

I am getting the exact same. Any solution found?

Thanks!

Same.

Would have downloaded whatever it is that's needed, but it estimated a download time of 80 hours...
