EmilyJane:
Unfortunately, my latest purchase was a PTCR and starter capacitor for the ac on my RV.
That's no fun at all.
My 260 was in pristine condition until last weekend when my cat knocked it off of a shelf onto my concrete garage floor. Knocked a chunk out of the bakelite, but the meter is otherwise unscathed.
I inherited both of these meters from my Grandfather in the early 80s. I only wish I had been more into electronics when he sold his house and liquidated his equipment - he had literally thousands of tubes, equipment, etc going back to the early 1940s, a lot of which was still in boxes. He gave the lot of it to the local high school and took a nice tax write-off, but I highly doubt they had any idea of the value of the collection. Sigh.
New parts!
ATMega2560 + Schmartboard to make a Mega2560 equivalent
Parts for Mini-uino when boards come in.
Little parts sure seem to need big packaging!
Guess I better clean off my desk ...
CrossRoads:
Bet that takes an expensive toner cartridge!
Nah, it takes 6 of them.......
But the status menu says that they are almost full, 5 out of 6 stars, where 6 are new. Plus the friend who gave it to me, just told me he had more laying I could get too, if I got it working
I think I'm about to pull the trigger on a Saleae Logic analyzer. The demo on OS X looks pretty good and I'm tired of waiting for someone to port the USBee SX to OS X. I like the USBee but it would be a lot handier to have something I didn't have to boot Windows to use.
I am thinking about the DSO Nano V2. Yes, I know it is not a proper scope, but it will solve some initial measurements for me at home - and then I can go to the club for full sized scopes if needed. (I'll buy from a local supplier, but the sparkfun link is in english )
Okay, I'm official now. I was just giving myself a little time to change my mind.
I have a cheap-ish BK precision 2-channel analog oscilloscope that satisfies most of my requirements for that sort of thing. I realize there is a big difference between $100 and $375 but there is a big usage gain for me in being able to "twist the knobs" on an analog scope.
I bought 3 cans of rustoleum, a mess of foam brushes, and 8 rolls of outdoor duct tape to paint out the strips at our fencing club. Outdoor duct tape was the only thing that sealed well to the polyurethane on the floor to keep the paint from seeping under, and the oil-based Rustoleum seems to stick well to the oil based polyurethane -I am thinking both coming from the same manufacturer helped in that regard.
Man am I sore now! Going back this afternnoon for final painting session. This getting old stuff is the pits! Got to remember to bring the camera for some shots...
Well, I try to buy American whenever it's feasible but that price is pretty tempting regardless. Wow, some of the product descriptions on their site are a real hoot!
