ZUM Scan board with Stepper driver and Arduino Uno

Hi I have a Arduino UNO with a ZUM Scanboard stacked on top of it and an A4988 Stepper driver. The ZUM shield is powered with a 12 V power supply. I try to get the motor rotating very slowly but the NEMA 17motor will NOT move. I tested the Arduino and the board itself is OK. The ZUM shield itself does not give any hints about pins layout.
A picture of the board without stepper driver is here: Imgur: The magic of the Internet

Can somebody please tell me what goes wrong? Is there a jumper missing? (Also not clear where the jumpers should be.)
Thank you very much in advance!

Welcome!

How about posting links to the hardware technical information and an annotated schematic showing exactly how you wired it. Realize that this will not be any good without your code posted in code tags. Many users will not use external links to social media etc.

First tell us what motor you have . NEMA 17 is nothing more the size of the mounting flange (1.7 inch square). It tells us nothing about the electrical specs of your motor.
