315mhz RF to turn on buzzer

Okay, I'm having the hardest time going about this. I'm a complete novice and have only really copy pasted code for various projects.

Project goal is a 315mhz RF transmitter connected to an UNO with a single button that sends a code/message/Idk to the receiver which is connected to another UNO that upon receiving the signal from the UNO triggers a buzzer/alarm.
Why? My friend has a cat that has found a hiding place in his house that after hours and hours of searching we cannot find. When the cat goes into this spot, it is effectively gone until it decides to come back haha.. We are going crazy trying to figure out where this spot is! So I figure with this setup we can press the button on the transmitter and move from room to room till we can hear the buzzer/alarm.

I have found an example on a site called pjrc that uses virtual wire to send text that is displayed via serial from one uno to the next, but I don't want to do that.. :frowning: I just need a button press on one uno to tell the other uno to turn on the buzzer for X amount of time.

Please can anyone help me? I'm really frustrated and don't really understand how to do this.

Thanks,
Ethan

Anyone?..

Can you explain more in detail what you want.
How is the location of the cat related to the buzzer, or is the buzzer somehow going to be attached to the cat?
