3D Bed level light project. Need help!

Hello!

I want to create something to help me level my 3d printing bed. The 3d printer nozzle needs to be about 0.1mm above from the bed for a good print.

I was thinking of using an ultrasonic sensor that would be attached to the printer head to measure the distance of the nozzle and the bed. The signal would then go to the arduino and light up an LED to let me know when it is at the right distance.

Any recommendations on what sensor would be the best for this project since it needs to be fairly accurate?
Any recommendations on the project in general?

Ive used arduino before in a couple of my engineering classes but I only ever used it a handful of times, hence the easy setup. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

If there is another place for questions like this i apologize and please let me know so i can post it there!

You wouldn't be using common ultrasound rangers.

Parallax laser for that kind of precision.

I use a bit of 80gsm printer paper as a feeler gauge.
