If you added those connectors double check your soldering and make sure there are no bridges between adjacent pins

Don't plug in that motor shield with the new 74HC595 without testing the Uno as I explained in post#21. If the Uno is faulty, you will fry the 74HC595 again.

The issue is solved, i guess the ic was shorted. I replaced it and it works again. Thanks everyone for ur support and advice.
