Adafruit fingerprint sensor not recognizing fingerprint

Hi,
I’m trying to make a fingerprint unlock for a project, and I’m using the Adafruit fingerprint sensor and an Arduino Mega 2560 to do so. I’ve followed all the instructions and changed all the code specifically for the Mega, and the enroll code says it sees the fingerprint sensor, but the sensor doesn’t recognize my fingerprint. I select the fingerprint slot, put my finger on the sensor, and nothing happens. No error codes, no nothing. I have no idea what the problem is as I’m new to the fingerprint sensor. If anyone can offer help, that would be amazing!

Are you sure you wired it correctly? Feel free to post a photo showing all the wiring.
Does the sensor LED flash when you power it up?
Does the LED flash when you put your finger on the sensor?

I’m pretty sure I wired it correctly. The sensor does light up, and when I try to enroll my fingerprint, it says “sensor found.” I also tried using the hardware serial ports to see if that changed anything, but it didn’t.

Perhaps it is just an oversight when posting the screenshot, but the screenshot shows you stopping just short of selecting the fingerprint slot. I would have expected to see the debug line

Enrolling ID #

followed by the ID number printed to serial if you had entered the number correctly.

If that's not it, try a couple of the other example sketches to see if they work.
Otherwise, if you have it wired correctly and you are using the official Adafruit sketches, then perhaps the sensor is simply broken. Try reaching out to your vendor or Adafruit to see if they can send you some diagnostic tips.

There is no error message, and I've pretty much come to the same conclusion as you. I'm going to get a new sensor as well as an Uno to make sure there's no problem with using the Mega.
