Adafruit MQTT client to work with the openweathermap.org 1 client

I am developing a similar system using ESP32s, temperature sensors, and encoder gearmotors to control passive solar window blankets. It senses the changes between window temperature and room temperature to open or close the blankets. As seasons change, I will use openweather.org forecast data to determine if the room needs heating or cooling, a day in advance, since the passive solar system has large thermal mass. My problem is that I cannot get the Adafruit MQTT client to work with the openweathermap.org client. So my workaround is to use a second ESP32 to determine weather forecast and heat or cool mode, then use gpio pins on each to tell the main ESP32 sketch whether to be in cooling or heating mode. Anyone have ideas or experience with MQTT and openweathermap.org?

Could you take a few moments to Learn How To Use The Forum

It will help you get the best out of the forum in the future.

Thank you.

You can try the AsyncHTTPMultiRequests_ESP example of my AsyncHTTPRequest_Generic library to see if OK for you.

This is the code snippet

I have used the openweathermap API to pull forecast data. Not sure what you mean by their client.

I would hit the API from an ESP and have it push to MQTT. Like @Idahowalker though, I would run a local server for it rather than rely on the cloud.

The RPi running the MQTT Broker is a local unit.

Oops, got it. Thanks for your courtesy, I will learn the system and see the How to Ask tutorial before posting again.
