Good plan!

Thanks for your suggestion @fluxanode1. We are tracking the request here:

If you have a GitHub account, you can subscribe to that thread to get notifications of any new developments related to this subject:

:exclamation: Please only comment on the GitHub issue thread if you have new technical information that will assist with the resolution. General discussion and support requests are always welcome here on the Arduino Forum.

The IDE used to do this, but the developer intentionally removed it. They explain their reasoning for that change, as well as ideas for improving on the current experience, here:

@fluxanode1 I thought I was very clear about responsible behavior in the GitHub issues:

Please don't make pointless comments in Arduino's GitHub repositories.

Dozens of people are subscribed to this and the hundreds of other Arduino repositories so that they can collaborate on these free open source software projects. We get a notification for every comment that is made on every one of the tens of thousands of issues and pull request threads. We must carefully monitor the activity in the repositories in order to effectively collaborate. So pointless comments result in either people spending significant amounts of their time sifting through unnecessary notifications, or else unsubscribing from the repositories that are the source of those notifications. So they have a harmful effect on this important endeavor. It might seem like a single comment is no big deal, but when thousands of community members are making these comments on tens of thousands of threads, it becomes a big problem.
