Any good ideas for an Arduino-based robot application that helps with any particular problem from a day-to-day basis?

We're doing a project for the end of the semester that needs us to build an Arduino-based robotic application. Although, I'm not so sure what specific problem the application should deal with. If this is any reference and/or help, the batch from the previous school year built vending machines, automatic faucet contraptions, and a few UV-related gadgets to deal with the then lockdown. Any recommendations or ideas for us to try?

I reckon a lot of you people have had experience with the fast-paced high school curricula as well as plenty of robotics stuff so I though I'd inquire here. Thank you in advance ^-^

Classics, door monitoring/security, shopping list gen (scan items in & out of fridge), programmable IR remote, line following car, Edge follower, color led change on approach (garage parking aid with sonar), alarm clock with LED matrix or LCD, weather station w/data logging, remote garage door sense and control over WiFi or bluetooth. Combo lock with knob (potentiometer) and button with servo release or electric door latch. Entry/exit counter. MP3 player. fancy LED light show. pet door RFID with servo open. Mini green house. build a 3d printer or laser engraver for the class to use in the future. Sun tracker cell phone charger or "time to go in" UV tanning sensor. Fridge / freezer / room temp monitor with internet alarm.

The MP3 Player one sounds interesting, do you have any references to get started with that one?

Search here on arduino.cc. These were IDEAS, not all are things I've built! LOL
